Improper False Illegal
~ Improper, False, or Illegal Moves ~
If a tournament player makes an improper, false or illegal
move during the tournament match, he/she will be cautioned
at the first instance, and then the move will be recalled
and played again. This procedure will be enforced during
any one of the following situations:
Illegal move, player fails to jump or
omits to complete a multiple jump.
On player’s improper move, touches
a checker that is not in a movable position.
In an ordinary or a jumping move, player moves a checker onto a wrong square.
Illegal move, player moves a checker backwards.
In a jumping improper move, removes opponent’s
checker(s) that have not been jumped.
In a jumping move, removes one or more of own checkers.
Player continues a jumping move through the King row with a checker.
Player moves a checker out of turn.
If any checkers are accidentally nudged,
moved or displaced by the players or through
circumstances beyond their control, the checkers
are replaced without penalty and the game
is continued. This is not applicable when
you play checkers online.
However, should a second improper, false or illegal move
take place during the same game, the game will end in
forfeiture for the offending player. Also, a player who
fails or refuses to adhere to the tournament rules will
forfeit the checkers match immediately.
~ Unforeseen Improper Disputes ~
During the tournament, should a dispute
arise that cannot be settled satisfactorily
in the interest of all parties by the governing
tournament rules, when there is improper
false illegal checkers questions, then a
written statement declaring the facts of
the dispute must be sent to a neutral arbiter.
This arbiter must have knowledge of the game
of checkers and all the conditions that apply,
and must be acceptable to both players. Arbiter
will then make a decision to resolve the
dispute, and this decision shall be final.
