Invented Checkers VariantsTurn the Tables Checkers(1978) Checkers by Mattel, with a new twist! The game board was a hexagon composed of five knobs per side. There were four disks embedded in the playing surface with seven knobs each on them and the disks had the ability to rotate. During a turn the tables checkers match, each opponent played with twelve checkers that fit over the knobs. Players could only move the checker pieces forward and capture on hexagon diagonals as in the rules for checkers. If an opponent had a checker on a turntable, the player could turn it as far as he/she chose in lieu of moving a checker. A win in, "Turn the tables checkers" was achieved by capturing all the opponent's checkers pieces, just the same goal as in the original game of Checkers. |
