Educational Insights created a variation on the classic checkers game with a dinosaur Dino theme to appeal to younger checkers game enthusiasts. The pawns or single checkers were designed as cute playing pieces in the forms of Stegosaurs and Apatosaurs and the king pieces were Tyrannosaurs. The Geosafari Dino Checkers game board was created to resemble stone pillars in a sea of lava combined with colorful volcano piece holders.

Since 1989, this Dino checkers game was an educational way to teach younger children the basic rules of checkers within an entertaining game board format that would hold individual interest for longer periods of time.
